Is there a way to turn my Linksys router into a wireless adapter?

I’ve read somewhere a while back where this guy turned his Linksys wireless router (WRT54G or something like that) into a wireless adapter and using that to go on the Internet.

Yes. The router would have to support third party firmware and you set the operating mode from access point to client or client bridge. You would have to still have a wireless access point to connect to.
